"Restaurant Without Chaos": Mykhailo Sheveliuk Held an Intensive Lecture on Systemic Hospitality for Future Professionals
The Ukrainian Horeca School team continues its mission of sharing practical experience with the next generation of hospitality professionals. Recently, we held another informative online meeting, this time with 1st and 4th-year tourism students.
The event was initiated and organized by Ulyana Martyniuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism Business and Hospitality.
The speaker for the lecture was the head of our school, Mykhailo Sheveliuk — an expert in the HoReCa sector with over 12 years of professional experience, a PhD in Cultural Studies, and a hospitality lecturer. He presented a powerful topic to the students: "RESTAURANT WITHOUT CHAOS. Systemic hospitality that brings profit and peace".
What did the students learn during the intensive?
During the presentation, Mykhailo shared practical tools and real-life management cases rather than just dry theory. Specifically, the lecture covered the following points in detail:
• Hidden losses: why chaos in the dining room costs an establishment 30% of its lost profit.
• Team building: how to find exactly "your" people and form a strong team.
• Management: why "dead" systems and massive instruction "talmuds" do not work, and what a manager should choose — a system of penalties or rewards.
• The golden rule of service: why treating a dissatisfied guest to a complimentary dessert is 10 times cheaper than the cost of losing them forever.
• Handling complaints: how to professionally resolve conflict situations using the international L.A.S.T. technique.
At Ukrainian Horeca School, we firmly believe that this kind of alternative learning, based on the real examples of a practitioner and professional, allows students to get much closer to realizing their professional goals in the hospitality industry.

We sincerely thank Ms. Ulyana Martyniuk for the invitation and excellent organization, and the students for their attention and desire to grow! There are many more exciting meetings ahead.
