On May 26 and 27, a significant event for the Ukrainian hospitality industry took place at Emily Resort. The Head of the Ukrainian School of Hospitality, Mykhailo Sheveliuk, attended this event and initiated the involvement of students from the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business at the Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
The event was organized by the non-governmental organization "Poruch Azov", which positions itself as the space of Ukrainian chefs. This is a powerful all-Ukrainian community of chefs that revives authentic Ukrainian cuisine and unites professionals around charitable initiatives.
Focus and Mission of the Event
For the students, this visit became a unique opportunity to witness the synergy of the highest culinary art and deep social responsibility. Key aspects of the event that the students engaged with included:
Charitable goal: The official mission of the initiative is to support the 1st detachment of the NSU "Azov".
Educational component: The community strives to develop gastronomic culture in the country specifically through education and unity.
Professional competitions: Over two days, a large-scale "Culinary Cup" took place on the main stage (from the performances of the first groups of contestants to the announcement of the winner). The participants' work was meticulously evaluated by the star members of the Cup jury.
Experience from leaders: The program was packed with lectures and presentations by leading chefs, including the founder of the space Alex Yakutov, Ihor Mezentsev, Oleksandr Yourz, Serhiy Khegai, Vitaliy Huralevych, Yuriy Koshyk, Michael van der Kroft, Illia Somin, and Andriy Matsiuta.

Participation in events of this level is an invaluable practical experience for future professionals in the hotel and restaurant business. It is the best way to be inspired by the mastery of top chefs, feel the drive of a professional kitchen, and realize the importance of the social mission in the HoReCa sector.
