April 30, 2026 | News

The Ukrainian Hospitality School continues to actively shape the future of Ukraine's service sector. Recently, our Director, PhD in Cultural Studies Mykhailo Sheveliuk, featured as a key speaker at the large-scale VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Economic and Social Relations in the Field of Physical Culture and Service Sector."
The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Lviv State University of Physical Culture (LSUPC) named after Ivan Boberskyj, which hosted the gathering.

🎤 Focus on Innovation and Practice
During the plenary session, Mykhailo Sheveliuk shared expert insights into the industry's current challenges and prospects. Our Director's participation in such events reaffirms the core mission of the Ukrainian Hospitality School: combining cutting-edge practical industry experience with fundamental scientific approaches.
Alongside our Director, presentations were delivered by leading experts, including state administration advisors, representatives of European universities (Poland), academicians, and doctors of sciences from top Ukrainian universities.

🌍 Scale and International Partnership
The conference, organized by the LSUPC Department of Economics and Management (headed by Prof. N. Pavlenchyk), became a vibrant hub for knowledge exchange. Thanks to an effective hybrid format (offline and online), the event brought together:
• Around 200 participants from Ukraine and abroad.
• Over 110 scientific research papers.
• Representatives from 40 higher education institutions, including 12 from Europe, Asia, and Africa (Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Spain, Kazakhstan, India, and Ethiopia).
Welcoming remarks were delivered by LSUPC Vice-Rector Prof. U. Parpan, Head of the Hotel and Restaurant Business Department Prof. M. Paska, representatives of the NGO "Progressylni," the Ukrainian Association for Management and Business Education Development, as well as international partners.
🏨 Why is this Important for the Hospitality Sector?

The conference's themes resonated perfectly with the challenges facing the hospitality industry today. Key topics discussed included:
• The development of the hotel and restaurant business, tourism, and economic security.
• Labor potential and workforce training amid post-war transformations.
• Modern leadership, risk management, and the implementation of dual education in the service sector.
• Youth educational resilience and the professional integration of people with disabilities.
We are grateful to the organizers for the high-level execution of the event, their openness to dialogue, and the opportunity to discuss real socio-economic challenges of our time. We keep working toward the development of Ukrainian hospitality!
